Program Description

The BSN to PhD program is a curriculum option for baccalaureate graduates to enter directly into PhD study.

An applicant whose prior academic experience and proposed research focus is congruent with the research focal areas of the College of Nursing will be given priority. This degree program is not for students seeking certification in advanced practice nursing.

PhD Degree

The curriculum includes:

  • Knowledge Development
  • Nursing Theory
  • Ethics
  • Advanced Research with quantitative or qualitative tracks
  • An area of concentration (9 credits) that may be in a discipline other than nursing
  • Dissertation research (15 credits)
